Gallery 101 hosts its Annual Silent Art Auction and Party on Saturday, December 3 at 7pm. Artworks will be available for preview from Thursday, December 1 to Friday, December 2, 2005, 10am-8pm daily.
More than 150 works by local and regional artists are available for auction this year. After last year’s rave reviews, MC extraordinaire Robert Harmer returns to host the night. A veteran in the Ottawa artistic community, Harmer is an independent designer who has captured the heart of many through his diverse artistic creations and wacky ventures. He is always busy, never dull and never up to the same thing for too long. Harmer’s extraordinary performance will be complemented by the exciting grooves of DJ Lance Baptiste, Mercury Lounge’s resident DJ. A pioneer of the deep jazz movement in Ottawa, Lance has spent much of his 16 plus years in the biz cultivating the masses via radio through his live DJ sets of soul, funk, house and of course jazz.
 Also new this year you may win Door Prizes when you attend our Art Auction and Party. Valued at $25-50, these items include gift certificates to various local restaurants and bookstores, as well as other surprise goodies. Door Prizes will be drawn throughout the night. Come and enjoy unique Ontario wines selected by our Sommelier along a great selection of hors d’œuvres. Proceeds from the auction help Gallery 101 maintain its services to artists and community.
